When I first became interested in miniatures, I had two small children. It's hard to take family money to support a hobby, especially one that can become very expensive. This was one way I found to bring in some "mini" revenue.

I found out I had a talent for hand sewing tiny dresses, purses, hats and parasols to help make rooms look lived in. I brought some of the items I made to our miniature club meeting and sold every outfit that I had with me. Several of the members asked me to make more and bring to other meetings.

These are some of the outfits I made.

I took several outfits with me when our club members went to the Back to College weekend in Ashland, Va. It didn't take long for word to get out that there were miniatures to be had in the dorms. of course, this was considered a no no. However, I was not the only one doing this and made enough money to support my miniature habit. We did get chastised at the meeting that night. But hey, look at it this way. We did spend some of the money in the show room.
