Rodney's Bait and Tackle Shack PDF Print

My hubby's neurologist gave me the idea of working with Rodney to create a miniature scene centered around something he liked doing. Rodney has always liked to go fishing at our coastal area. So, the idea came for making a bait and tackle shack such as would be found on a small pier in the waterway.

Because this was a miniature of something he liked, I knew it would keep his attention even for a short time each day. I started with some of the simple things I knew he could do, like painting the ceiling. He also helped glue on the board and batten siding outside and the wood panels inside. After those were dry, he used "Weather-it" to give the building a weathered look.

The window trims and screen door were also weathered.  For safety's sake, I did any cutting and sawing of wood pieces.
